Wood furniture with simple lines, embellished with inlaid designs of contrasting woods, were produced in Thuringia and neighboring areas from the early part of the 19th century. This is the legend of a picture of the same furniture, presented in the book Antique & Collectible Dollhouses and their Furnishing by Dian Zillner & Patty Cooper. The autors explained that this furniture, simple in style, with straight lines, was inspired by full-scale early Empire designs.
