This Villa has typical characteristics of Moritz Gottschalk dollhouses for the French Market : the exterior lithographed-paper over wood in green, white and red tones to simulate the architectural design, the original blue painted roof and gable window, the red painted lines, the opened front door with its original knob, the gilded cardboard balustrade, the carved wooden columns. Cut-out windows on the front make possible to admire the inside of this dollhouse. The house with its chimney rests on a wooden base decorated with lithographed-paper and attached wooden steps.
The entire front opens to two main rooms and two small elevator foyer rooms, each with original wall and floor paper. The elevator operates in a pulley system from a brass lever at the side. The windows have their original lace curtains.
Base 10 5/8"(27 cm) wide and 8 1/8"(20.5 cm) deep - 21 5/8"(55 cm) total high including chimney - 11 5/8"(29.5 cm) wide.
The original furniture with gilded paper edgings and light upholstery is fixed on original support (one chair missing). The elevator is functional (door missing).
Dollhouse is in excellent condition, minor lack - Dollhouse furniture is in good to very good condition.
