In wood with warm cherry finish, this majestic furniture is decorated with gilt paper on floral pink cotton upholstery. The seat back presents a pure right line and the seat front is decorated with a large nicely embossed gilt paper with leaves design. These characteristics are the particularity of the early French furniture.
The two armchairs 5 3/8"(13.5 cm) high, 2 3/4"(7 cm) wide.
France - This set dates approximately from 1830s, the period of the Bourbon Restoration, during the reign of Charles the 10th. Rare quality item for advance collector.
