Fortune Telling Bisque Doll with Twill-over-Wooden Body by Simon and Halbig
You will find here a very rare German doll with cut pate bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate. Her cobalt blue glass inset eyes are heightened by black lashes and lightly brown feathered eyebrows, accented nostrils and eye corners, full pink cheeks, tiny closed mouth with accent line between the lips, blond mohair wig, twill-over-wooden torso and limbs, shapely torso with defined waist, jointing at shoulders, dowel-jointing at hips and knees, bisque lower arms. Well-designed body.
This doll was known as Bonne Aventure Doll. She is richly dressed with her extraordinary original costume of fashion doll in silk and lace with a majestic hat, fabric shoes. Her under-skirt is formed of colored folded papers with French hand-written ink script messages or with fortune prophecies.
