Parisienne doll with pressed bisque swivel head on bisque shoulder plate, rounded pretty face, blue glass inset eyes, pierced ears with earrings, feathered brows, closed mouth, original blonde mohair wig with curls over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at knees and elbows, separated fingers. Lovely costume with lace shawl, long necklace.

Marks 2/0 on head.

Doll 11 "(28 cm) tall.

Generally excellent, tiny leather repair on one arm (see pictures).

The bentwood lidded box contains her little treasures : a brooch watch, a purse and its real French Napoleon III coin dated 1862, combs, perfume bottle, hand mirror, metal book with Paris views, metal picture holder. Her accessories to be so pretty and refined !

Miniature Opera Glasses with views of Famous Parisian Monument "Les Invalides"

Lord Charles Stanhopes developed in the 18th century a tiny magnifying lens; its invention is that the object to be magnified must be touching the rear surface of the lens. Inside you can see two views of the Invalides.

The hotel des Invalides is a Parisian monument, located in the 7th arrondissement, whose construction was ordered by Louis XIV by the royal edict of 24 February 1670. It is there that we find the tomb of Napoleon I. The Dome also houses the mausoleum of Vauban, the tombs of Napoleon II known as the Aiglon, Joseph and Jérôme Bonaparte and other illustrious generals.

The metal detailing is an incredible and intricate work of interlocking chains. Seven metal beads hang down from the chain, no missing beads, lock is working.

The interior has two compartments separated by a chainmaile divider. The purse has a small loop on the back which would be attached to the Chatelaine belt of the Lady's owner or your Jumeau or Bru Doll.
